Caravane des Dix Mots

The story of the Biennal of Languages from the Creation of the Caravane des Dix Mots to the Summit of the Francophonie 2024.

As the questions of languages are at the heart of our lives and because they constantly fire our passions, the 2nd edition of the Biennal of Languages will propose, from May, 21-26, 2024, in Lyon, 6 days of presentations, round tables, fun and scientific workshops as well as an artistic programme.

Over a period of several days we want to ring out those languages that inhabit us and tell all about us. Those that murmur at dinner, when putting the kids to bed or in the playground. Those languages that we hear every day in the metro, train or on the footpath, and those that we carry with us secretly as they can only be revealed under certain circumstances.

Desanctifying the (pretty) language while yet loving it passionately, celebrating it in the mouth and ears, sharing all together, that is the Biennal of Languages.

Parce que les questions de langues sont au cœur de nos vies et parce qu’elles ne manquent pas de nourrir les passions, la deuxième édition de la Biennale des langues proposera du 21 au 26 mai 2024, à Lyon, 6 jours de conférences, de tables rondes, d’ateliers ludiques et scientifiques, ainsi qu’une programmation artistique.

Pendant quelques jours, nous voulons faire résonner les langues qui nous habitent et qui nous racontent. Celles qui se murmurent au dîner, au coucher des enfants ou dans les cours de récréation. Celles qu’on entend tous les jours dans le métro, dans le train ou sur le trottoir et celles qu’on porte en secret parce qu’elles sont une part de nous qu’on ne dévoile que dans certaines circonstances.

Désanctuariser la (belle) langue tout en l’aimant passionnément, valoriser celles qu’on a dans la bouche et dans les oreilles, les partager, toutes, ensemble. C’est ça, la Biennale.
